    To be honest this app is average. When it comes to customer service AirBnB is abysmal! They outsource customer service to India, the support is slow, inarticulate, absolutely no help as they rely on their “specialists” whom you never directly converse with. I’m currently traveling and have been dealing with an issue with AirBnB that has gone unresolved for what now is going onto the 6th day - with x3 separate open tickets / claims with customer support. I’ve had to find and pay for premium accommodations as AirBnB provides no help beyond fake assurances and fake smiles. Proceed with caution when traveling abroad as they will leave you stranded on your own. Their is no way AirBnB will continue to dominate the space under this business model.

    There are few if any protections for guests in the booking process. Hosts have the power to set ridiculous rules and choose exploitative policies that hurt guests most. Very difficult to plan group trips when hosts set arbitrary rules about visitors. Additionally, the refund/cancellation policy is nearly hidden until after you book and then you’re stuck in a bad deal. If Airbnb is supposed to be the better alternative to hotels, they need to at least put guests first.

    Your support team has been little help and now me and my family don’t have a place to stay this weekend. We are doing some remodeling this weekend and will not have access to our utilities. We decided to go with Airbnb because I have a dog and not many hotels are pet friendly. They won’t let me book a place because of a “safety risk” that we might be having a party due to short notice. Why would I book last minute to book a party. I just want a place got my family while out home gets fixed. ZERO customer support, once I contacted them to try and resolve it the support lady simply read off a script that said summarizes to “to bad so sad” and “we sent it to the right team” . Might as well have AI answer their customer service

    The hosting side of the app is terrible. Way too many issues. Booking as a guest is fine though never had any issues on that part

    I have been a host for several years. Generally good experience and the guests have been almost all wonderful. However I did have one damage claim and got no cooperation or payment from AirBnB. Very frustrating run around and very contrary to the assurances they give. So just know you are on your own - they take the fees but do not support.

    First time using the Airbnb app. We reserved an apartment located downtown San Antonio. Had great reviews, pictures looked good and a 4.9 on cleanliness. We arrive to our Airbnb and noticed the floor would creek pretty bad. There was dust everywhere. We found hair also in some places. The sofa was covered in stains & crumbs. There was a towel in the washer (only had a washer) the dishwasher was very dirty also the keurig, the bed sheets seem dirty too. It obviously looked like the place has not been cleaned in a while. We didn’t even stay for an hour there. I let the host know, also taking some pictures for evidence. I didn’t get every single thing because I thought the ones I did take were enough for anyone to tell this place was not cleaned. The host ends up telling it was cleaned that day and to send the pictures. He then told me I had to speak with Airbnb customer services because I asked for a refund. They end up telling me I can not get a refund because it was “minor cleanliness” and only cared if I had a picture of the towel in the washer but not the sofa that had stains all over. I couldn’t even get a partial refund. Airbnb only cares about the host and will side with them even if they are in the wrong. THEY DELETED BAD REVIEWS ON THEIR APP.
