Used this app for years. Was very pleased with it. Even tried to stick with it when the ads started. Those ads evolved into intrusions which couldn’t be exited at times without exiting the app. Deleting after this review. Bye

Bible Gateway used to be my go-to study app. I recently downloaded it again. in order to do some deeper study. I didn’t realize it had become an ad center for games and apps—to the point that it is impossible to even access the value or features of the app. Message received: don’t study your Bible—play these online games instead. No thanks.

Used to love this app but now it's not worth using. I love voice translation and must bible apps do not have it. The experience with ado is terrible.

Feel like there’s a story in there about how Jesus feels about the religious leaders trying to make a buck on people just trying to get to God.
  • Why the ads?

I’ve used Bible Gateway for years. I battle distraction robbing my morning quiet time daily. Since the last upgrade, Bible Gateway is inserting a distraction by covering the screen with ads for games. I looked for an upgrade option that I’m sure exists, but you have it buried pretty good because I never found it. I’m going to download a devotional to go along with a Bible I’ve already downloaded on Kindle. Consider making upgrading easier. It was great while it lasted.
  • Bible Gateway is great, but the app isn't.

I'm a Plus subscriber, because I use their resources on my laptop when doing sermon prep. It's better than Logos or anything else I've found. Was hoping their app would be the same as the website, but it isn't. Very buggy, but my biggest issue is you can't access resources for the chapter you're reading like you can from the website. Makes the app kinda useless, which is too bad, because it would be great for study, if I could use it!

Clearly Bible Gateway doesn’t value the onslaught of bad reviews they’ve received. I’ve submitted emails to no avail, other than a “ we hear,” but nothing has improved with the app. I’ve used for many years. The notes were my favorite feature, now, after writing sometimes lengthy notes, they don’t appear . Also, the ads are RIDICULOUS. The Word of God should be preemptive. You will lose many more users, if you don’t fix your app. A Bible app should be FIVE STARS.
