Description

If you have a new MacBook, you also have a new notch. Congratulations! Have you ever wondered what happens to your mouse while it‘s traveling underneath the notch? Notchmeister answers that question with exciting effects that take your Mac to a whole new dimension: ⁕ Glow - A cursor will light your way. ⁕ Cylon - By your command. ⁕ Plasma Leak - A mouse can break down the magnetic containment field that keeps Apple Silicon’s power in check! ⁕ Festive - Let your Mac celebrate the holidays the best way it can—in binary. ⁕ Nano Radar - Our patented invention lets you know exactly where your mouse has gone. ⁕ Expando - Bigger is better, right? ⁕ Fusion Dice - Apple’s expertise with silicon is not only with the die, but also the dice. ⁕ AutoToot™ - Pressure buildup can reduce the performance of your Mac: AutoToot™ can safely vent harmful gases. Notchmeister is also small and unobtrusive, both visually and with system resources. It’s fun, but doesn’t get in your way while you work. And for those of you without a new MacBook, Notchmeister also includes a genuine replacement notch. Be warned that side effects of this feature include making you want a new Mac even more than you already do. Sorry.

I'm the author of the original Xmas Lights / Holiday Lights Mac program from 1993(!), and I'm really glad you young whippersnappers are keeping up the long tradition of pointless Mac decorations. Good work. (I'm also amazed at how much less code it takes to do this kind of thing now. I had to use low-level pixel blitting routines for the original, hooking into the vertical blanking interrupt. Those were the days!)
  • A work of art. They should have sent a poet.

I didn't know I needed this. I thought power and money would fill the void in my life. I was wrong. I just needed Fusion Dice. Thank you Notchmaster giving me purpose again. I am ready to love again.
  • Had to force shut down.

It's very clever and did really dig the idea. The Cylon and Glow modes grab the mouse briefly (super cute idea!). Unfortunately, Glow grabbed it and I couldn't get it back. Bad possisioning I guess, but I'm all over the screen normally, and don't want to risk that while I'm in the middle of a project. Had to force shut down. I'm sure it's and easy fix, but its not convenient for me.

Reminds me of a time in the past when whimsy iin software was more commonplace than it is today. I have no problem with the notch as it is, but this app adds a little sparkle that makes me smile - especially when I'm working on something and my cursor unexpectedly hits the notch. Thank you Iconfactory! PS: I love Tot as well. Use it every day on every device.

Since the recent update, program prevents restart and shutdown because app fails to quit. In no dock mode, closing the setting screen crashes the app. Sometimes it remains functional. Sometimes it just disappears. Uninstalling for now.

It really drives me crazy when I zipping between virtual desktop spaces and the Notchmeister dialog keeps popping up. I think I've closed it about a million times since I installed it. Someone owes me $.15 of Mechanical Turk reimbursement.
  • Fun, but buggy

It is too sensitive. Some of the effects display when my curosor isn't anywhere near the notch.
