  • Genuinely so frustrated

I have been using procreate for a good long time and have found it incredible. Thus when I heard of dreams I was MORE than excited but after purchase felt ripped off. The app is finicky, slow, and lacking critical features after almost a YEAR of release. Lasso tool? Gone. Quickshape? Gone. You want to edit your brushes or add your own? TOO DANG BAD!! If this software could implement a few simple tools it would be my favorite by a landslide. But in its current state it’s practically unusable, and for $20 it’s a total ripoff. Don’t waste your money until it’s fixed. It’s not worth it as it is now I want the same features as base procreate has or I want my money back.
  • Disappointed.

I’ve been using this app for a good few months now and, while there are some good features, it simply isn’t a very good animation app. The interface is very simplified, almost too much so. There is no lasso tool, and when selecting whole drawings you cannot even rotate them. When I realize I made one frame too short, instead of just lengthening it, I have to tediously move each individual frame after that a step or two farther along in order to. Not to mention it’s been glitchy for me. Only a two minute animation, not anywhere near completion, and it’s glitching all over the place. Even crashed a few times. I had high hopes for this app and while there is some merit to it, it’s such a hassle to work with and not really worth the frustration. Thank you for your time, -Griffin
  • Was excited, now I feel like I’m playing a platform game

When I started off on procreate I never used its animation assist guide, I tried it recently and thought it was pretty much just as annoying as this app, just easier. This app barely has anything that the animator themselves can control, not only that but when it’s handled by procreate I’m sure we were all expecting the same tools that the app procreate had. Such as holding down your lines and creating straight lines, or shapes, and that just isn’t in this. Which is in a lot of other animation productions just as a pen itself that could be extremely useful for rooms or stripes, or go big whatever your creativity comes up with to animate. It also doesn’t have the pen import, you have to import them directly from your procreate app, which is quite annoying if one doesn’t have the app or even just yk… never finds that out. There’s also issues with the layers, you can’t alpha lock, invert, that cool jazz we know you know isn’t in the app for layers. you can’t change your background color based off of hex code, you have to chose from specific colors for onion skin, there’s no reference box or drawing guide/perspective lines, if you draw on the wrong track you CANT MERGE DRAWING TRACKS OH MY GODDDDD I SPENT THREE DAYS TRACING MY TRACK BECAUSE I DREW ON THE WRONG ONE!!! Not specifically the layer, THE TRACK. You cant add multiple different text boxes to the same text box track but you can accidentally add a drawing track to the text box track? Okay. Anyway… there’s a lot of work for this app, it could be because I only have a generation 6 iPad but whenever I draw/animate specifically with this app it glitches, the pen backtracks with my finger/pen the screen will freeze, it simply won’t even draw what I drew for like a good minute while I’m sitting there dragging my finger on the screen, it needs some help. Please fix these things! Please update the app with better quality content and things people can use, I quite literally feel like I’m playing a parkour platforming game on the switch while being fed peas with a tiny fork at the same time while using this app. I’m not going to stop using it, I am using it for my animation class, but it’s SOOOO hard to use. Please make things easier for your users, begging. Omg edit while using, out of all things IT DOESNT HAVE THE SELECT TOOLS!! I literally want to grab an arm on the same layer and just move it since I put it in the wrong place while drawing BUT I CANT there’s no freehand select/lasso tools!
  • Not bad but it needs some different features

This app overall is not bad, it’s actually pretty good but there some things that I think would make it much easier to use. First I feel like making animations would be so much easier with this app if we where able to move the object or drawing on a frame and layer without it make it so every motion you do extends the frame and if we can rotate it to would be great. Like the select tool on procreate. I also think it would be great if we are able to make straight lines or shapes just like regular procreate for styles in which utilizes geometric shapes. Procreate dream is a good app for animation especially if you already have regular Procreate and know how to use it, but I think if they added these’s thing it would be so much easier to use. Thank you for your time and if you are the people who made and updated Procreate dream please and these things.

This app looked like it had a lot of potential but when I went to use it my head started spinning, I thought this would have the simplicity and easy use of procreate but it turns out that everything is hidden and it feels like a puzzle trying to animate, above all of this it cost $30 which is not worth it considering the fact there are other, BETTER programs for less, feels like it got executed poorly.
  • just a few things to fix.

first of all, can you fix the outline that always appears when coloring? turning up the colordrop intensity wont work. second, please fix the fact that the lines get *way* more blurred the more you zoom out. also, when will the lasso tool be added? overall great app, just needs some stuff added
  • Not User Friendly

This app requires you to be completely reliant on tutorial videos and instruction guides. Its interface is as minimalistic as possible, with several features hidden in weirdly placed ways that makes it feel like a game of hide and seek just to find simple things. It assumes you have extensive knowledge and experience with their previous software, Procreate, yet at the same time takes known features and twists them, so that they are now difficult to use if you have used it before. Additionally it is missing several very useful and common features like a lasso tool, the ability to edit a brush, etc. I’ve been animating for years across several platforms and by far this is the worst one—it’s easier to animate on Procreate, the app they made for drawing still images, than it is to try and use Procreate Dreams. Won’t be coming back to this app in the future.

The game is to laggy and the layout is confusing, been using procreate for a year or longer, still don’t understand THSI app a BIT The brush strokes function is to laggy, and it keeps soft locking me, there should be a tutorial in game, because a YouTube will close from PiP after opening a project in here, also costs to much for an app THAT DOESNT EVEN HAVE A LASSO TOOL, Also it took me 3 days to understand ToonSquid, which also has more to offer, IVE HAD THIS APP FOR 4 DAYS+ AND STILL DONT UNDERSTAND IT,
  • Love it but they need to make motion blur :C

I would just stick to FlipaClip honestly. This is a pain to use.
