  • Decent results, troublesome errors

I’ve been using this with my mac for about 3 years now, and most everything is good. I have had one long term problem (highlighter on documents basically render unreadable in the scanned version), and one newer issue (maybe since macOS 15 my saved workflows randomly give errors about being unable to save to the location, and point to some folder underneath the app, rather than my account’s Documents folder. I can re-save the workflow and it is fine briefly, but the problem returns). I’d love if I was able to see the text that was highlighted on the paper, and that would earn another star. If I can permanently resolve the “unable to save” issue, it’ll be up to 5 stars for me…

This app is useless, and the product itself its very very low quality, inconsistent and faulty, both, software and hardware, make yourselves a favor and avoid them!!!!!

I have a Brother printer and need to scan something so I got this app. I can't even get it to open; it just crashes immediatly. The app "Physical Scanner Connect" (also found here in the App Store) seems to work for me though.
  • Stuck in 2001

The software does not have even basic functionality. It cannot scan 2 sides, it cannot re-arrange, it cannot do anything that one would expect in 2024. Hardware 2024. Software 2001.
  • Fine, but Massive File Size

It is stated here that this application would be ~300MB. It actually requires 700MB of disk space for arguably very limited, simple tasks. The utility of the application with a corresponding Brother printer is fine. It’s a shame that is misrepresented in the description here and actually requires so much space to achieve this, though.

I have a Brother MFC-L2740DW. I have used this printer and this app for years and it has always worked well for my scanning needs. Recently, it just died. I understand this printer is old but the printer still works via of wifi as a printer. The problem is the print scan app. It will no longer find the printer either via of wifi or usb. Not a techie but if it was my computer or my printer, I would think it wouldn’t print or scan. The app just seems to have died.
  • No double sided scanning

At some point they removed the ability to scan double-sided documents from this app and it's extremely frustrating.
  • App Crashes

This app crashes when scanning 3 or more receipts in a batch via the PC button on the device. It did not crash before but now seems to have an issue. I tried reinstalling it a couple times, with no success.
  • Can't Find Scanner

I bought a new DS940-DW, and this app can't find it. It works fine with the MacOS built-in scanner interface, but I can't change the paper size there to support things like receipts... so I thought Brother's own app would do the trick. Maybe it does... but it can't find the scanner at all, even though it's connected by cable and works with the MacOS interface. I don't like to give one-star reviews unless they're really worth it, but... in this case, it is.
