This app was amazing and then they ruined it
  • Can’t work with new update

I’ve been using that app since 2015, it was buggy at times but I liked it. After last update app was crashing on every opening, so I uninstalled it… and all the backups got erased with it. I found one from 2022 on my phone but is not working either… it was nice while it lasted, time to move on I guess.

I have been using this app for years and have absolutely loved it. But this update, man, really ruined it. It won’t even calculate time read correctly?!? What the heck?!? Also so buggy to run. And now ads? Deeply disappointed
  • Clunky and Non Functional

I’ve had Leio for years and have absolutely loved it. However with this most recent update, the entire app was basically reimagined. Now there is incredible lag on typing things out and searching, using automatic reading timer and linking a book crashes the app, and everything is so difficult to find anymore. I have years of historical data here, but all of my favorite functionality has been deleted or is non functional.
  • New Update is Not an Update

The update has rendered this app unusable. It’s not no longer intuitive to use. It also no longer has the e-book feature. I am looking for a different timer to track my book reading stats. The way it used to be was fantastic!

This was a great app that I used for years and now it has a makeover that I don’t understand. Can’t add books by barcode anymore, which is incredibly frustrating.
  • Unusable Now

This was the best reading tracker app on the market and now it’s unusable. I purchased a lifetime license and now I’m getting ads again. My books disappear after 24 hours. The planner which was the feature that set this app apart can’t be used anymore. Please listen to everyone and revert to the app we all fell in love with. This version is completely unusable.

I’ve use this app ever since it was first developed. But the new changes are unbearable. I can’t stand to use it. Please bring back the old app.

Truly heart broken to write such a negative review but I hope it will send a message. I have used Leio almost daily since 2017. I have the paid full version. Leio completely revolutionized my personal reading, helping to motivate me through tracking my books and progress and catapulting me from reading 1-2 books each year to now reading 50+ for the past few years. It was truly a 5 Star app and invaluable to me. True, over the past year or so it had gotten a little buggy, often crashing on me. And it was clearly neglected as far as updates to keep it running well. But it was still an incredible app, the top book reading app for iOS in my opinion. Imagine my surprise then when a new update appeared recently. Great - surely this will enhance an already great app and fix the crashing issues. Sadly, no. Instead, the developers went and completely changed the app, redesigned not only the look but discarded much of its former functionality, overemphasizing the timer aspect, while removing a landing page that lists your current books, as well as ruining any form or archive system to search for past books. Random books that are not currently being read are highlighted in a search area that doesn’t work properly and lags. If you do manage to get to one of your books, the past reading sessions are not even listed in chronological order but are randomly arranged. Every aspect of the update is head-scratchingly impossible to fathom the reasoning behind. It is truly abysmal. The fact that there is not the landing page with the list of currently reading books is truly bizarre. And I get that the timer aspect it’s important to the design, though I never used it and always inputted my reading manually, but to place all of the emphasis on the timer, when it is disconnected from easily serving you knowing your progress within the actual book you are reading makes no sense. I could just use the clock app if I wanted a timer. What Leio did well was helping you to see your progress within a book, and that doesn’t really functionally exist. It is a shame. The sad thing is, they took what was in my opinion a 5 Star app and the best reading app on iPhone, and turned it into a 1 Star app and, after searching for a suitable replacement, I can confidently say it is now one of the worst reading apps. I do not exaggerate when I say that often over the past couple years I contemplated ditching iPhones for Android, and the primary factor that held me back was Leio’s presence exclusively on iOS, and how important the app was for me for tracking my book reading, rating my books, and having a comprehensive digital archive of my reading for the past 7 years. I will not delete it yet, as I hope against hope that the developers will wake up to how bad this new version is and will try to find a middle ground of updating the app while also returning to some of its former functionality, but for now it looks like I will have to look elsewhere for a quality book reading app. TL/DR It was a great app, now it is not. Developers, fix this please!

I’ve used this app since it first came out years ago, recent updates have made it unusable. I’m extremely dissapointed to have to transfer all this reading history to a new app that is actually simple and easy to use. Please revert the updates.
